Power BI Training

Use Power BI to connect to data, prepare reports, create visualizations, publish dashboards, and share governed analytics with approved Rice audiences. Start with Rice-specific Power BI 101 training, or use the reference library for common Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Enterprise Data Platform guidance.

Rice faculty and staff can access Power BI through Rice’s Microsoft 365 environment. Mac and Windows users can view reports, interact with dashboards, comment where enabled, export data where appropriate, subscribe to updates, and receive alerts through the Power BI service. Report authors on Windows can also use Power BI Desktop for full authoring, modeling, and publishing workflows.

For Rice enterprise reporting, start with governed data sources whenever possible. EDBI can help connect teams to the right workspace, semantic model, lakehouse, or report request path.
